![]() Honestly, I think that this is a flaw in the game, because IMO there's no way that a gun "upgrade" should ever be seen as such a downgrade that the prevailing wisdom of the player community is to skip the upgrade. But over the long run, this one area is far superseded by all of the other areas where the 6" guns outperform the 8" guns. (FYI, I'm doing this from memory, so pardon me if I'm off on a detail here or there.)Ībout the only area where the 8" guns are better than the 6" guns is that they have a higher individual shell max damage. ![]() Also, IIRC, the dispersion on the 6" guns is lower than on the 8" guns. On top of this, IIRC, the 6" guns have a higher shell velocity than the 8" guns, meaning that their trajectory is flatter, which improves player accuracy with the guns. IIRC, the basic skill reduces reload time by 10%, and the advanced skill increases range by 10%. They stick with the 6" guns because, when combined with the Basic and Advanced Firing Training skills, the 6" guns outperform the 8" guns. That is NOT why people stick with the 6" guns. Of course the 6" guns have a better ROF than the 8" guns. Nobody buys the gun upgrade because the 6" guns are better than the 8" guns as far as ROF. The Mogami is the T8 Cleveland with torps and a big citadel.
